Does anyone know of a site that has available chahuoas or leacies. I'm fortunate enough to have two really good reptile shops within driving distance from my home, but i wanted to compare some prices first on those two type of rhacs. Leachies are 450-550 for medium sized and baby chahouas are 350 at the shops I go to, I know it depends on the animal but assuming they are average looking healthy animals, do those sound like fair prices?

The cheapest I've ever seen a leechie for was $350, and the cheapest I've seen a chahoua for was $250, but that was only once. Other than that, the cheapest was $300. Have you been lookin on Kingsnake?

yeh well i check geckos on the classifieds but usually dont see adds with specific animals posted for chewies or leachies, the adds will just say "we have chewies," etc. the one place that posts the most adds about them on kingsnake is the shop by my house.

my chewie is on back order waiting for the little sucker to hatch already, hahaha the two matts hit it pretty much on the head the going rate on chewies seems to be around 300-350 and leachie between 350-550 dependent upon a few variables: age/color/breeder/ $850 and up on some of the newer locales giantgeckos almost always has leachies available, just shoot him a pm and he will respond within a few days i cant find steve cemelli's business card right now but he also has some AMAZING leachies (dont now if he ships though, assume he does) hes on the higher end of the spectrum, but from what i have seen, worth it!

i saw a pretty big, seemingly fullgrown (but i'm not positive) almost buckskin colored leachie at a pet store today. he was $550 and i really liked him. with leachies, i'm not as concerned about color desirability as i am with cresties, and like i said, I really like him, but i'm wondering if a tannish, buckskin color is considered to be plain with leachies? i only want to know becuase if that's the case i'll search for a less expensive one, but I think that's my favorite color on them.

Their color's change like cresteds do. What you're seeing may be the day time colors. Mine is really light during the day (more of an olive than tan) but gets really dark at night.

do you know what locale this leachie is? in my opinion, i wouldnt buy a leachie from anyone but a reputable breeder to ensure a "pure" line. if you are getting a leachie as a "pet" only, then it wouldnt really matter about "purity" but you may one day desire to breed and sell. im not too fond of crosses with leachies, but others are.
seemingly fullgrown? it can take the larger leachies about 3 years to fully mature. $550 for a full gron leachie sounds like a good price, but again, i would only buy from a reputable breeder because of my own phobias and line purity

yah, they didn't specify the exact line so it's hard to say whether or not it was pure.

This is where I'll be getting my chewies: http://www.royalreptilia.com/He doesn't have any available now, but it shouldn't be long. They look nice and he sells for pretty cheap. Limey's a cool guy too, I've talked to him several times and told him he better have some chewies ready for me soon. Hehe

is 350 (with no shipping or tax, 350 sold) a fair price for a baby chewy?

Depends on many factors, the heritage, the parents, the care, the breeder. Unfortunately this is where supply and demand kicks in. You could probably find cheaper chewies but it won't be until probably the end of the summer so you'll have to pay a little more. As long as it's a good animal and based on the fact that they are hard to find right now $350 isn't unreasonable.

Ok, I have a leachie question. Someone on pangea is offering me baby leachies, 1 for 300 or both for 500. He said they have zig zag tails, which im guessing sounds like kinked tails... BUT he said that is normal in baby leachies and should go away in no time... Is this true or is he trying to screw me over?

It can happen. I have female with a slight zig zag in her tail. It has not gone away. I am not sure if I would call it normal but if the animals are eating well and have no other physical deformities they should be okay.
