Ok, I plan on rigging this up for atleast my larger tanks, to make it easier and more efficient.

I have one of these: http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-supplies/reptariums-reptarium-accessories-and-explorariums/-/100-gallon-basic-reptarium/

I love the tank, but as with everything there are disadvantages.
First, the zipper opening is a pain. Second, humidity is difficult, but not impossible, to keep up. My plans are to take the pipes and to some how glue/silicone plexiglass (or some other plastic material that can be used) to the pipes, with the top being screen (along with a side ventilation spot on the two sides. The front I plan on making into doors like the Exo-Terra.
Now, I want this to be a naturalistic viv and here are the specific layers of substrates in order from bottom to top: river rocks, some what large gravel, smaller gravel, and mixture of Eco-Earth, Coco Fiber, and Spagnum (spelling?) moss. Obviously I plan on having live plants, which will most likely include ficus, bromliad, pothos, and anything else you might suggest that would work and look good. Also, I plan on filling the empty spaces between the plants with Pet Grass and some sort of live moss (suggestions?). The plants with longer roots will have the roots reaching into the River Rock layer, and the rest, depending on length, will be as far as I can get the roots. Hopefully the will reach atleast the larger gravel (except the moss and grass, obviously).
This is what I need help on. I want to get some sort of filter to take some water from the River Rock layer, through the filter, and into a misting system to mist my tank every so often. How would I go about doing this? What would I need to buy and what special equipment will have to be placed to work this out?
Sorry about the long post, just wanted to explain everything right. Thanks!

I would say dont do that for a number of reasons.

1) the pipes are plastic and I would imagine that the glass would be very heavy, stressing the pipes

2) How wpuld you balance it? reptariums are pretty unstable, and if you were adding heavy plexi or glass, it may topple over.

I think you are better off investing in an all glass tank for display, but hey, whatever works for you. Smiley

overall i think the money for a glass enclosure is better spent. but you have to be the one to decide that.

Thing is, I don't want to just toss this out and never use it. They are nice tanks, just a few disadvantages, as with all tanks.

Hey Katie instead of using glass how about a tarp type material? I know they make stuff for lining the insulation in buildings and it come in big sheets and is fairly inexpensive.
Just an idea and some thing to look into Smiley
