"Hisser" on my hands.

So I ahve a female who I tried to pair with a male, but to no avail. He just bullied her so now I have her seperated. I've left her alone for a few days and yesterday when I tried to take her out of her cage to clean it, she hissed at me as if she were trying to warn me off. It's the same noise she makes when the male tries to mount her, any idea what's going on or what I should do?

she's stressed. more hides & caves and leave her to herself for the next week. try not to bug her except for feeding, misting & necessary cage maintenance. this is the same female in your other posts right? don't be suprised if she takes longer then a week to adjust. she's been through quite a bit for a little gecko. it's hard to let them be when you're so concerned about them. i feel you.

well yeh, he was trying to breed her. i dont know, i guess i still consider it bullying since she wont consent and he keeps biting her, but I guess that's how it goes with cresteds. I think she is jsut still stressed, but she wasn't hissing when I first switched her over to her new home. it's strange to me that some of you have never heard a gecko hiss. If you're breeding and still haven't heard that, then I must be doing something wrong?

Oh, no you are doing just fine. My couples would make that "hissing" sound, I think it sounds more like short barks... lol.
Just let the girl calm down and rest and relax for a week or so, and she should be as good as new

Mine sometimes bark or squeal alittle and I guess you could say its hissing. As long as there is no labored breathing or gaping at all when trying to breath I would say things are okay and you doing fine. Cresties can be rough on eachother when mating -- especially when the girl is not ready yet. The boys are ALWAYS ready.

yeh, i guess i just used the word hissing because it sounds like the screaching noise a cat makes, but its not an actual hiss when i think of it. the thing that im worried about is not the hissing in general, its the fact tat she hisses when i try to handle her (which i wont be doing for a while.) just want to figure out what might be causing that, i know probably stress, theyre not known to do that when theyre gravid are thy?

ok ok, substitute "hiss" with "squeel" in everything i wrote. could that mean she's gravid. this is just the first time i've had a potential clutch on my hands as u can probably tell.

It could mean she is unwilling maybe because she is gravid or maybe just unreceptive.

no sounds mean gravid. if she is gravid she will behave the same as before, except for digging in the nest box.
they all make sounds when angry or whatever.
