Ok so every couple days I pick my eggs up to get a 360 view of them to look for dents of molding.
Well today I did this then a couple minutes later was looking in my egg container and noticed two of them are kinda leaking for cracks so small I can't see them. The fluid is clear/yellowish.
The eggs are both around 60 days +

Could they be hatching? Or might it be that the calcium being not so good caused the eggs to be fragile and have small cracks?

And side question, what do people use to write on there eggs that's non toxic to the eggs...sharpie?

Could be getting ready to hatch, or it may have a leak.  If it hasn't hatched within a few hours, I'd consider helping it by tearing the egg a bit.

If an egg leaks earlier in gestation, you can tear a small piece from a teabag, and let the "leakage" glue the paper to the egg to protect it.

And yes-we usually use a Sharpie to mark eggs.  You could also use a wax/china marker from a craft store.

So how do I know if I should use the tea bag method or just cut it open??  Sad

Has the other egg from the clutch hatched??

It's really all a matter of guessing when it comes to intervening.

A lot of hatch time depends on humidity & temp of the egg box.

If you think they're ready to hatch, based on other eggs you've incubated, got ahead and see if you can find the leaking spot, and rip it open a bit more to help the little nipper out.

If you don't think it's time, patch it with the teabag paper.

Whatever you choose, I hope it all ends with a happy, healthy baby!!

This was the only egg in the clutch that was viable.

And this is only the second clutch I've had come to hatch time lol

Meh...well I decided I'm just going to leave it alone because it doesn't seem to be a continuous flow.

If the egg/s start to deflate or starts to leak a lot more I will rip them open.

If the leaking ends and it seems to clot on its own I will probably rip them open.

Sound like a plan?

Sounds good to me!

I'm sorry that I'm not able to give an answer one way or the other...it's just a "feel"...you know what I mean?

Also-I would recommend placing a small dish of pure calcium (no vitamin D) in the tank of each female/couple.

This way, they can dose their own calcium when they need it.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but I often lose eggs that do this; not sure why. I've cut open full term eggs, and only once managed to fish out a live gecko. Usually, by the time that happens and I've noticed it (I check our incubator twice a day), I think the gecko has drowned in the egg fluid. I'm suspicious that it might have to do with overcalcification of eggs, but I have no real proof of this. Hope it turns out better for you.

WELL good news!!!  Grin

Yesterday a baby of one of the leaking eggs hatched out all on its own!!

After the leaking I left them alone pretty much, not tea paper or cutting them open.
They stopped leaking by themselves and now the one that was by itself (no clutch mater) hatched!!! Grin

Pictures should be up today, its a gorgeous brown VERY striped tiger!

I was too scared to "tea bag" my eggs cause I was like what if theyre trying to escape and I just trap them in there!

But since this one hatched the other leaking egg and it's clutch mate should be coming soon!! I found them the same day, so they must have been laid close to the same time.

The baby that hatched out at 2g which for me is huge cause the other ones I hatched out in the winter are 2g right now. (they hatched out under 1g)
