found poor Squeak last night looking awfully odd. she's got a appointment for tomorrow to see what's going on with that eye. i added a new girl to the breeding group so i'm assuming this is a scuffle related injury. i haven't actually seen/heard any fighting in the group so i'm a little surprised. (also notice the little bite mark on her nose)

her pupil looks closed, but that could also be because the liquid isn't clear... so here's to hoping it was caught in time!
i really wanted to share these photos as i've seen so many posts on other forums asking if they could skip the vet trip, if it would go away on it's own. they don't!

update!
this morning when i checked on her the eye has drastically reduced, i'd say nearly a 50% change. a really good sign.

and, of course, just before leaving i got called into work. my super awesome roommate agreed to take her to the vet for me. i spoke with the vet over the phone once the issue was resolved at work and took photos at noon, just after i got back home. the eye is now barley swollen, a tad puffy, and practically gone when compared to yesterday. i'm wondering if i hadn't see it yesterday if i would have caught it at all?! the vet didn't drain the eye.

doctor's notes:
squeak has an infection of the right eye. this can often be an indication of a systemic infection as well. therfore we are starting him on a course of oral antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. please give these medications as prescribed.
we would like to see him back for a re-check on friday or saturday to determine if he is responding to the current treatment.

Metacam .01ml orally once every other day for 10 days
Baytril .02ml orally once per day for 14 days
