So as i was trying to fall back asleep this morning, i hear a sound like someone walking on the gravel outside my house. after several paranoid minutes, i realize the sound is coming from my gecko enclosure. So i rush over, assuming someone is fighting. Everyone is just sitting around, not doing anything. This happpens about 4-5 more times over the next 30 min. As soon as i sit up in bed, the noise stops.

Finally after checking the cage for the last time, i see kaiden and lacey off in the corner together. This was odd, because they are always at least 3 inches apart. Then I remembered hearing that geckos will "call" to a mate.

Here's the problem, Lacey is only 25 grams. I wasnt sure before if kaiden would even go for her if she was too little. Aside from putting her in another cage, what can i do? all i have right now is the small size critter keeper. Its big enough for cricket feeding or something like that, but not at all ideal for long term housing. Untill i can get a bigger cage should i keep her in the small one or take chances with the male?

I didnt see anything other then them being close, so i dont think he tried to mount her or anything like that.

Never keep females with males if they are un-fit to breed (whether it be smaller than 35grams or sickly). Separate them immediately. Hopefully she isn't gravid, as it could potentially kill her.
