Just a random thought really, but i was wondering if anyone has ever owned an infertile crested gecko. I am curious to see how uncommon (hopefully Wink) this problem might be in our captive populations.

ive got 3 or 4 females that are still juvies, but so far all my adults (only 2 so far) that have been paired up have produced fertile eggs.

I've never run across one. I would guess it's pretty rare.

Raised and bred hundreds.  NEVER a infertile one in the bunch!!  (those that I've actually used as breeders.)  That certainly is not to say that infertility can't happen.  I'm sure there are some out there.  Just a rarity though I'm sure.

A friend of mine had a  pair together for well over 6 months and they never produced anything, however I don't know if they ever even showed interest in breeding.  They were very friendly with each other, got along great.  He was about 10g smaller than her but they were both adults.  His favorite hang out spot was on top of her back but he never did anything just kinda hitched a quiet piggyback ride.  Perhaps they ended up producing something later but I always thought it was weird that she had a male and female together and never got anything out of it.

i actually have 2! both are females i've had for over five years now. one was purchased as a juvi, the other as a adult. i've tried both of them with different males and never got anything, not even a single egg.

This might be a case of not willing rather than not able. Of course at that age without once ever dropping an egg it could be likely that infertility was the culprit

yea i considered that too. i saw them "in action" with proven males, still no eggs...so i've just written it off to infertility.
