Hi everyone, I really need help with this...

I have 3 female cresties all around 6 years old, always lived together, no bullying.
A month ago, the most healthy looking of the bunch suddenly died.  I've had them so long trouble free that i don't check them every day... so one day she was her hyper, fat self; 4 days later i saw that she was horribly skinny & obviously near death.  She died the next day.

Now i'm seeing a second female display some of the same signs & i can't figure out what is wrong Sad

Details:
Feed Repashy food + fresh fruit, there was always food in the cage. Water in a dish. Home is 18 x 18 x 24 terranium with 2 other females. NEVER near a male.  ~ 6 years old. Haven' fed live crickets in a year because they lost interest. Coconut bark fiber substrate.  She has not had shed problems.

Signs:
sudden weight loss, sunken eyes, skin has a white powdery look to it (NOT like before they shed, it's like a white residue on the skin but doesn't wash off), extreme hyper activity 24 hrs/ day for a week before she died (hyper turned into slow, but continuous restless movement), couldn't grip walls,  crest spikes were gone (?) her head was smoother, at the very end she was very off balance, falling about & the day before she died she had labored breathing (mouth full of mucous).

The signs that i'm seeing in my second crestie now is that odd white powdery scaling on the skin & 24 hr restlessness (not sleeping during the day). I have isolated her form my last female & sterilized the cage in case the third is still healthy.

Please help me figure this out.  Besides trying to save my geckos, I need to know if there is any chance that whatever is affecting my cresties could infect my parrots or snakes.

Thank you.

Not really sure what's going on here but it is a rather large concern that the animals would waste like that in a matter of 4 days.  This is something better dealt with by a veterinarian rather than on this forum.  Anything that can wipe animal out that fast is not something you want to banty around on the board here.

No way to know if you would jump from specie to specie either.  How is the stool. normal or loose and runny?

WOW-I don't know how I missed this thread!

I'm so sorry nobody responded!!!

I agree with Steve!

Any pathogen that works THAT fast is nothing to play with!

Try to get a fecal sample to take with you when you head to the vet!  That will give him something to test for parasites, etc.

I wish you luck and send a prayer for your gecko.
