This is Bitey, my juvenile tokay. I took some pics of her today while cleaning cages--and I think it may be a female. I see no bulge at all. She's about six inches total length, and weighs about 25 grams. Is this too small/young to tell still? I do not see pores either. Opinions?

i would think she was a female. in the first pic I can kinda see the row of scales where the pores should be, and i dont see any. hows her temperment? ive been thinking about trying to tame a tokay, but im not sure if im up to it of not haha

The temperament is exactly what you've probably heard about tokays. They will bite and lunge and run around like crazy. I think it's just mainly that they scare so easily. I have tried getting her more used to me, but she just really seems to prefer being left alone, and so I don't force it on her. I've had a good deal of success with taming up my pair of halmahera geckos, but they aren't nearly as outwardly aggressive.  I have, however gotten my tokay to eat CGD, as she loves it.
