After losing many of my cresties to a fungal infection back in December, I've finally started breeding again, and rebuilding my colony.

Yesterday, I got a shipment of 6 geckos.

Here they are, with their future mates-

Cantaloupe-new guy & Jamie-from my original colony-




Pirate-new girl & Jack Bauer-from original colony




Rose-new girl & Dali-original colony




Josey & Kokopelli II-both from original colony-mated last night!!




Berto & Autumn-both from original colony-mated last night!




I also got these guys/girls, and I have more geckos coming to pair up with them when everyone comes out of quarantine.

Fatty-will be paired up with a cream tiger that's on hold due to the weather.
 


Charleen-she'll probably be ready to breed in 2012 or 20013



Charmander-2012/2013 breeder, too.



I have several others that are waiting for new mates, due to the cold weather.

cantaloupe and jamie are pretty much glowing! great colors. good luck with the up comming season, i just started pairing mine up last night too!

Good luck to you, too!!

Yeah-I've got some "different" ideas for these kids...like a deep Merlot from Rose and Dali, and intensifying the red/orange from Berto & Autumn.

Josey and Jack Bauer might not strike anyone as a great combo, but they throw some GORGEOUS babies together!!

This is Xi-the pic is a baby shot from about 18 months ago, but just look at that back pattern!! (Yeah-I'm bad about updating pictures.)  But I want MORE of these guys!!



Now that she's bigger, the back looks like an oriental bamboo painting.

my red is from Big Fat Geckos too, and she has got the best color.  The one I saw like charmander was about 1-2 grams when I saw it, prob similar parents at the very least.

New episode!!

Meet Star!!  My new olive girl!!!  I have BIG plans for her!!  She's going to be the Star of my new line!!  Couldn't capture her color, but she popped out of her deli cup a deep, rich olive green!!  And I didn't want to stress her too much after her trip from California!!  Where else!!  She IS a Star, after all!!

That FedEx issue is insane! besides the hassle of not knowing when your package is coming, the poor little reptile is sitting in a box, probably thirsty and hungry! maybe cold or hot depending on the weather. Even the best misting may not be enough if the little guy is sitting there for 2 days.

They will be here tomorrow!!

They're cooling their lamellae in Memphis.

They were packed with a 40 hour heat pack, and it's not like Tenn. is the Arctic Circle, so they should be fine.  And they were packed with a soggy paper towel, too.

And if you've never had a gecko go on a 3 or 4 week hunger strike, you're not really a gecko owner.   Tongue

3 days is NOTHING.

These guys are TOUGH!!

3-4 week hunger strike! geez and i thought i had a picky bunch. for a few weeks the eat everything every night, then out of nowhere they barely eat. sometimes they will eat the 1 days leftovers, and others the food must be FRESH!

I'm pretty excited about this season...in spite of the losses.

I just got a new crowned olive male this morning!!  I'll post the pics later.

I have to pick up a friend's new chewie from Fed-Ex this afternoon, so I figure I'll post pics of both at the same time. 

I get to chewie-sit!!  Can't wait to get my mitts on that little bugger, but I have to deliver her to her Mommy at the show in May... Cry.  I'm a God-Mommy!!

I'd like to introduce Spinach and Caelum!!

Please ignore the water droplets.  Nobody wanted to cooperate today-color-wise.

Spinach arrived at my door this morning, and I had to pick Caelum up at fedEx, and got to meet Mark Orfus of NorthernGeckos!  He and his buddy, Dave, are REALLY nice guys!!  I hope to order from them soon!


Spinach is a 51 gram, crowned chunk of olive masculinity!  Courtesy of Jon Rosario-aka-oo3menace!!  Jon has been really sweet, and very patient as far as waiting for the weather to be right!!  I'd order from him again ANYTIME!







Caelum is my adorable God-Chewie!!  His/her Mommy, Megan, is in Florida right now, but she's coming back to Buffalo in May to get her baby!!  In the meantime, it's ALL MINE TO SPOIL!!!  Courtesy of NothernGeckos!!
