I'm totally and completely obsessed with gargoyles.  My sub-adult male, Ridley, is getting closer to breeding size and is getting himself an equally hot striped girlfriend once the weather warms up.  I'll have another unsexed juvie with an orange tear on the way too.  In the meantime, here's Ridley and his neighbors Kraid and Turok.

Very nice!!  ALL of them are beautiful!

I don't know why, but I really love the markings on Turok!!  Not that he isn't one hot piece of gargy masculinity, but I'm usually a red girl.

Must be the nice symmetrical markings on him!!

Lemme know when you get into chewies...  Grin

Donna, Turok is a complete HAM as seen below.  And chahoua are in the plan depending on how this season goes...

Crazytanak, Kraid is already showing so much more red than Ridley was at that size/age.  They are going to make a GREAT pair.

These are the two waiting on the weather:

Actually, they're 2 different subspecies of Rhacodactylus.

Chewies are Rhacodactylus chahoua, and Gargoyles are Rhacodactylus auriculatus.

Chewies look like smaller versions of Rhacodactylus leachianus-or Leachies.

All of my gargs have been very easy going and tolerate handling quite well.  I'll frequently get some squeaking or grunting when I first pick them up, but they're very tolerant.  In general, gargs have been known to nip at each other or eat cagemates' tails, but I have not seen any of this.  I have a breeding pair that has been in together for over a year straight without issue and I've been housing 2 young juvies in a planted 10-gallon with no issues as well, neither of these cases is the reported norm though.

I love these guys, they are fat, goofy clowns.
