I used to work at that store and they are inconsistent with using the MRP.  I finally gave up fighting about the correct care.  I've definitely noticed a difference with cresteds I bought from breeders versus stores.

Probably because it's just easier to toss in a handful of crickets to each cage.

Good news at last!

The crestie is definitely recovering! Yesterday I tossed in a few crickets and the feeding response was immediate. She went right for it unlike the previous attempt where she looked and lost interest.

whenever any of mine seem to not want to eat I will gently dip their nose in the food dish and get some of the food on the tip of the nose. A little less forceful then the syringe approach, and always seems to work for me. After a couple of dips, I can usually get them to start eating CGD on their own. Always seems to be more of an issue with pet store cresties that were raised on crickets.
