could i get some recommendations on good bulbs for lighting?
brands & general things to look for would be great.

I only have used bulbs in the winter when it's really cold.  I have a red night bulb 50 watts.  I think it was exo terra that made it.

I just checked the bulb and it's actually Flukers that makes it.  It raises my temp 4 to 5 degrees

Oh sorry, I didnt even see that it was in the photography section.  I read the DIY lighting too and it looks like some good ideas.

Walmart, Lowe's, and Home Depot all carry compact fluorescents that mimic daylight. I have some made by Sylvania that I use. Grin
