To photograph the undersides, I placed them on a sheet of glass and photographed them from under the glass.

Very nice. As I was writing my care sheet I got the idea to use glass and shoot for male and female identification but I figured the flash would bounce off the glass and distort the picture. I'm thinking I need to bounce the flash off the ceiling. Did you use flash at all?

I did not use flash, I used two small dome studio lights. One shining from above and one from below.
