Hi I am looking to buy me some Halmahera giant geckos.  I guess they call them the poor man's leechie.  Anyway, then I saw the post about "Soldier" the Chahoua.  Now I'm interested in finding out more about these critters.  How big do they get? I want a large gecko and I would like some info or advice before purchasing one.  Anyone have any first hand info on the Halmaheras.  I just thought they looked so neat. Are they handable? What about the Chahoua? thanks in advance!!

I don't know much about them, but the ones I've seen have been pretty agressive (bitey & flighty).  They're also skin sloughers, meaning they can "release" their skin when they feel threatened.  I looked into getting some, but from what I gathered, their appearance is about all they have in common with leachianus....they're apparently more of a hands off gecko.
