I don't think they eat often enough-or consume enough-to be of use as an insect killer.

It couldn't hurt to put a few around the room, though.  I just wouldn't put them into the tanks.

The wine trap works, I've done it before, I like the fly paper better though, because I find it less gross. Any sweet smelling drink with alcohol can work for the trap.
