I woke up today and did my daily routine taking care of all my animals (i.e. feeding, watering, ect) and when I got to my gecko, Mia's, cage, I saw her and she had some brown splotched all down one side of her body. At first I thought this was gecko diet that was dried on, and I scrubbed it off and it looked normal. I put her in with a male gecko of mine and I took her out right after this and put it in her tank. (I had her in that tank for about a week and I didn't take care of her regular tank like misting and putting gecko diet in.) Then I was getting her out because her favorite show came on the T.V. (for some reason she LOVES to watch Reno 911 and CSI but nothing else lol) and more of the brown splotches were down the same side. I looked closer at the spots that I scrubbed off and at each spot a scale was covered with the brown stuff. I also looked closer at the splotches that appeared there over the course of around six hours and they had the little orange dots like you would find in gecko diet but I don't know how she would get into it in her tank that has none of it in there. I will take pictures if necessary with my phone but they will be of terrible quality. I am wondering if this could be one of these reasons:

1. Gecko STD (not even sure if those exist)
2. Lead poisoning (I handle bullets almost every day but I always scrub down my hands with antibacterial soap afterwards)
3. Scratches (maybe she has an itch all over her body and she scratches them until they bleed...but she has some on her butt and I don't know if she can reach back there.)

Please respond if you know anything of what this is. I am REALLY worried for my gecko's safety.

UPDATE-I looked again in her cage and I found some of the stuff speared across the wall. I am pretty sure her poop wouldn't look EXACTLY like the gecko diet, would it? Maybe it is vomit??? God I need some help on this...if she were to die I would feel like the worst person in the world...she is so sweet...

it really sounds like she is getting CGD on her.  it may be feces but usually cresties stools appear pretty solid (at least my guys' are), so i dont think they would really smear on things too easily, and if it was a skin injury i would think that you would have been able to see something injury wise after you scrubbed the stuff off her for the first time.

have you noticed any shedding issues with the effected area in the past?

As I said, I saw some of the stuff that was solid on a couple of scales after I scrubbed it off; maybe those are scabs and the stuff is blood?

I haven't noticed any shedding issues with her at all, she has always been a very healthy little girl.

I tried to take the pictures, but the splotches didn't even show up on the ones I took.

Ok, alll of it seems to be solved. The splotches dissappeared yesterday, and she is acting fine. I hope there is no permanent affects of whatever was going on with her...

Im sure it was CGD getting on her and drying. My crew is always jumping in the food bowl and getting CGD on the walls sometimes and on their bellies.
