so are these little guys still selling good, worth breeding,I am going to breed them anyways for the pleasure of it and since the wild population is so screwed up it just seems good to do and study anyways but is thier still money in it? So easy to take care of and a pleasure to have.

From my understanding if you are going to breed them then do it for your own pleasure but understand that you may not sell many of these guys. Indeed the market is saturated right now and unless you've been around for a long while and have made a name for yourself, it will be difficult to sell these guys and for the prices they are worth. So don't get into it to breed and make money because it likely will not happen for a few years. Breed quality animals. Breed because you enjoy it and know you will put far more into them than you will make from them. Wink And be prepared to keep a bunch if they do not sell as expected.

people buy cresties..... I sell a bunch at shows, on the net, trade and even wholesale to different reptile stores that i like. If your tryin to get rich...then no. If you want it to pay for your itself, then yeah. Every year theirs someone new getting into breeding cresties and that effects prices.

well thank you for responding guys. Ive bread herps before and made some fun side cash and that was nice, its all Im looking for here too, and the fact I love taking care of the animals, Ive just always been so passionate about reptiles and will never give it up even if I loose money. However I do like to get info from other breeders and you guys just to see if its worth spending extra for high end adults. Thanks for your thoughts and input, take care.

Even if you take making money out of the equation, yes, it's still worth it.

My animals have always been my second set of children-the ones that don't need clothing, college funds and cars!!

They are the one single source of enrichment and unconditional love in a lots of peoples' lives!!

well thats why I think something is missing in this industry with cresteds in particular. They are great little pets, fit anyone's need for a little life in the corner of any home or room. I have to say, the way clothing companies and cars and jewelry and so on is advertised every place you look, we need to somehow make these little guys more known, reptiles in general to everyone. I think money is still to be made, imagine how many ppl would want them if they knew about them in thefirst place. I dont know if we need to make shirts or what but it just seems to me so many ppl would love these guys but they are never even introduced to the idea. Anyone else see what Im talkin about here. It would also help with all the bs bans that keep poppin up, how do we get the rest of the world interested. Also, yes, I love the little guys no matter what.

I have an idea!!!

How about we all go to our local t-shirt show and have shirts made!!

"Ask me about my crested geckos."  Nothing more on it.

At some point, curiosity will entice people to ASK!!

Also, we all carry snap-shots of our geckos to show off, and a hand-full of business cards.

Once the girl asks about your geckos and you show her the pictures, you KNOW she's gonna squee over how cute they are.

Your next step is to tell her how soft their skin is, and how friendly they are.

That's YOUR cue to invite her to your place to see them in person...and swap phone numbers...and ASK HER OUT.

It's pretty pathetic when a 50 year old woman has to tell a guy how to get a girl... Grin

Why does this quote frighten me??

Are these places like "Deliverance" or something??

Why do I hear "Dueling Banjos" playing in my mind??

"Squeal like a pig..."

"You shore have a purty mouf..."
