So, some people tell me that a ten gallon on its end is plenty big for one adult gecko.

Others tell me that I would need at least a 20, or the poor thing would be cramped.

Which is it?!  Huh I don't want to stunt the little guy/girl, but I'm short on space. I don't want to give him/her too much room.

This is all hypothetical right now, I haven't managed to prod my keepers into letting me actually buy a gecko (although they no longer say 'no' and instead opt for 'sooner or later'- good sign? Tongue)

I'd go fora 20 or 29 gallon tank-on end.

It'll give your gecko more room, and if eventually you get the chance, there's room for a second gecko, if you get two females or a male and a female.

I use a 10 gallon tall tank for my adult female and juvie female and a long 10 gallon for my juvie male. I don't have enough room for a 20 gallon tank right now Wink

If you're short on space, use a 10. Personally, I think it's enough space for just one gecko. I kept a male in a 10 for two years and he's over 45 grams. =]

Thanks, guys!

I'll probably get a 10, since I'll most likely get a little guy, and then upgrade his enclosure when I have more space (and time to spend cleaning! Grin).

Some of the 10 gallons with the screen lids can be turned upright so that there's more vertical room for them to climb. Be sure to add structures for that - bark, fake plants, wood, even bamboo sticks. Good luck! Smiley

Thanks! I was thinking of getting some bamboo and maybe some other assorted wood things from a craft store and hopefully linking them together for ease of cleaning. I'm a student so I'm trying to think of ways to keep both the gecko and myself comfortable. Smiley When I get him.
