what exactly defines the bearded dragon "morph" leather back? is it a reduced scalation or more of a color/ pattern trait? ive only seen pics of babies, and they looked like a high contrast normal beardie to me...

from sandfire dragon ranch : http://www.sandfiredragonranch.com/index.php?main_page
Sometimes also referred to as smoothies, leatherbacks are bearded dragons exhibiting the absence of, or significantly muted tubercles (rough knoblike scales), giving them a smooth appearance and feel.

I've never owned one, but I've looked into them a bit when I kept beardies.
Care is the same as a normal beardie, they feel similar to a leopard gecko.

I've just confirmed my purchase of a male leatherback today - i get him on the 20th of next month... i'm so damn excited!

They have reduced scales so instead of being rough/bumpy, they're smooth Smiley
