Hi, I'm Leslie and I was at a pet expo yesterday and fell in love with a crestie.  But alas I left it there as I wanted to learn more about them so have been cruising the net for as much info as I can find.  We were there to buy crickets for our beardie which is about 10 weeks old now his/her name is spike (at the moment) and belongs to my daughter.  We are a  very pet oriented family and currently have 3 dogs 3 cats a bird and the beardie.  Now that my daughter has opened our world to reptiles I'm finding that I'm not as "turned off" as I used to be.  hahaha  While at the expo yesterday we were inquiring on turtles as my son wants one.  Butttt I think I'm going to stear him toward the cresties.  We met a very nice couple who put up with all my questions and "handling" of their babies.  It's the handling that sold me on them.  I could not get over how very soft they were.  So thanks for letting me join this forum and any advice, cautions, info you have for someone just starting would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks again!

Leslie-

Welcome to Ciliatus, and welcome to your new addiction!!!  Believe me-these little critters are just like potato chips!!!  You can't have JUST ONE!!

If you have a question, ask away!!  Also-our search function-at the top of the page-is VERY user friendly!! Just pop in a word or phrase!!

My advice to you is to READ THE FORUM!!!

There is a wealth of info here, on every subject imaginable!!!

These guys are sooo easy to care for-with a proper diet-Crested Gecko Diet-and a few minutes of maintenance a day, they almost take care of themselves!!

Again-if you need help or have a question, ask away!!!  There's no question that's too silly.  We were all newbies at one time, and we're here to help each other!!

Thanks all for the great welcome.

Monster - we went to the All Pet Expo, in Wheaton, iL.  They have quite the selection of reptiles.  And a few other animals as well.  But it's mostly reptiles.  If we hadn't gone there to purchase the crickets for our beardie I would have never learned about these cute little guys.  I can't wait to get one.  hahahahaah
