I've been posting and posting without formally introducing myself so here goes it. I'm Lani, 26 years old, half hawaiian and half white hybrid morph human female. Been a keeper of leopard geckos for approx. 5 years now. Just a couple weeks ago the crested gecko bug bit me and I picked myself up a few and then several more followed. So now I have leopard's and crested's galore.

Aloha, Lani!!!

Welcome to our little forum!!!

Are you still in the Islands?

I was there for 10 days back before you were probably born (1969) and I loved it!!

I always wanted to go back, and I will before I die if I have my way!!!   Grin

Anywho-make yourself at home, and if you have any questions or need help, just let us know.

We're all here to help each other.

Hugs-

Thanks Donna! Unfortunately, nope I'm no longer living in Hawaii. I'm far, FAAAAR faaaar away, in Connecticut. It sucks here. I hate it with a capital H. No cultural diversity here. Everyone thinks I'm native american indian. Which I can't blame them, I do look native american. Hah! Grin

Aw, honey!!

Don't down yourself!!

You're a beautiful young woman!

I can understand why people think you're Native American!!  But there's no shame in that, either!!  I live in Western New York, and there are Many Native American here, and they're a kind, proud people, just as the Native Hawaiians are!!

I have many friends-on the local reservations and off-in fact one of the Tuscarora Matrons-Grandmother Twyla-taught my friends and I what we needed to know of their culture for Camp Fire Girls.

Your people and the Native Americans just arrived here a lot earlier than mine did!!!   Grin

Here in WNY, we have TONS of cultural diversity.  In fact-as a Caucasian, I'm a minority, but I LOVE it!!  I love getting to know and understand people of different cultures, backgrounds and religions.

The more we understand-and realize that we're ALIKE-the less we have to fear of each other-but the differences make us as unique as snow-flakes!!

Okay-time for me to climb off my soap-box before I freak you out TOO much... Tongue

Your guy Slim Shady is really handsome!!

VERY nice to meet you, kiddo!!

Thank you for the warm welcome Donna.  Grin
I just took my picture down just 'cuz...I dunno, I felt a bit uncomfortable. The internet just gives me the heebie jeebies. The only pictures I feel comfortable posting of are my geckos from now on I suppose, but thank you for the kind comments.  Wink

Oh what the hell, for old times sake, here's a better picture of me I took over the winter. I use this as my main facebook photo. I like this one the best. Cheesy

That's it for now. I'll be posting more photos in the other sections as my juvie cresteds grow older. I HOPE at least one of them turns out female. (fingers crossed).

Welcome to the group!

I have to say I have a lot of Hawaiian customers here in the Pacific North West.  I'd say the number has grown over the last 3-4 years, too.  I remember checking a gals credit card signature and laughing.... her last name was about 22 letters long, and she'd got so tired of writing it she had shortened her signature to three letters and long line!  Hers is still the longest last name I've ever run across!

Hahha! Word! My mother's hawaiian maiden last name is all vowels and is a nightmare to pronounce, also marked by many ' ' ' '. Forget it. Too much brain power involved. Thank god she gave me a simple first name and married my caucasian father with a simple last name.  Cheesy

Yes finally an islander lol i am japanese and native american but i lived in hawaii for 3 years or so lol
All of my friends in hawaii ask me why i pay so much money for these geckos when i can just come home and live with the gecko's in the wild like them haha
Well welcome and i hope to see some pics of your geckos. Down here in the southwest we have Pacific Islander Festivals so its pretty culturally diverse but mostly Mexicans lol

Welcome.

Love the Islands I am there all the time.  I can't imagine how you are living in Connecticut now.  Everytime I go I never want to come back.  Actually started looking for property on the big Island.
