I know. I think I'm done letting the know. Try to inform them of this and it always ends in a fight. Just told them I'm not posting info on hybrids anymore. They can be in the dark as far as I care

Yea i wouldnt tell them. you even state that you are just posting pictures and you dont want to start anything.but some people just dont understand.i just dont understand how someone can pick a fight with someone who states they dont want any problems.its like fighting someone who is alseep.it just makes no sense!
keep posting them here though,i really enjoy seeing them.

Here's how the other fourm views you guys when I said something about how they always start trying to fight with me over the topic

"Speaking for a number of people on these boards, I take this as a compliment (on the highest order BTW!). My impression has been that most of the members here tend to have more experience with herps and tend to be a bit more contemplative than just responding to posts with "OOHH, pretty!". "

That's a very irritating idea. We do compliment on how beautiful the hybrids are. However, just because we don't start a fight over whether breeding hyrbids is "ok" or on the possible consequences of hybridization doesn't mean we don't comtemplate/worry about it ourselves.

Talking about this is just about as bad as talking politics...

Eh, you have to consider the source of the comment.  Someone who would make such a blanket, condescending judgment on people they have never met, let alone talked to, seems like they're grasping at straws to prove their superiority.  That person has no room in their life for anyone who has a differing opinion.  It's sad, really... there are probably a lot of very nice people on that board, but because of that one person's statement, a lot of us will now NEVER consider joining them.  But hey, they don't need anyone here.... they already know everything!!   Wink

Speaking for myself, since I talk to Lance on a fairly regular basis, I don't feel the need to have a full-blown conversation with him here.  He already knows how I feel about his hybrids, so why WOULD I say anything other than "OOOHH, Pretty!"?  Roll Eyes  As a final thought to those of you who may actually spend time worrying about that person's comment, just remember.... if you have to spend your time trolling (lurking) here for material to post on your home board about, I'd say you have too much time on your hands, and should spend some of it "contemplating" the kind of person you are!  Smiley  Don't let 'em bug you!!   Grin

I agree with Frog.

A long time ago, when Lance first started talking about hybrids, we all said what we thought about working with them.

I personally think it's "playing God", but that doesn't mean I look down on Lance for working with them or think he's going to rot in Hell or anything like that.

I also voiced my concern that somebody would buy them and start crossing them back and when we'd go to buy a gecko, we wouldn't know that gecko's genetic heritage, due to crappy practices on the breeder's part-NOT on Lance's part, but the people who would buy his hybrids.

When I buy a crestie, I want a 100% crestie.  The same with any other species I may decide to work with in the future.

While I don't plan to ever buy a hybrid, I can still admire the amazing colors and physical differences of these guys.

They're beautiful, and I'm not just saying that as a blanket comment, nor just commenting to politely appease Lance or anyone else.

If they're not to my aesthetic liking, I don't comment at all.

Consider the source.

We don't need no stinkin' azz-kissers and some of the other forums are LOADED with them.

If you don't agree with certain posters there, you may as well pack it in and go else where.

At least here, we can agree to disagree, and nobody takes it personally or takes out a vendetta over it.

Yes. I think the same. Most here have asked these questions, so you don't need to keep asking them everytime. It's funny that overtheir I get the why question by the same people very time I post. In that post I said I wanted to inform them that this isn't a pure Sara morph... Why, because I would hate of someone to get one of them and think it's a purebred reptile. I bet if someone wanted to sell it as a chevron  dorsal patterened morph, some would never know it was a hybrid. In stead of saying thanks it turned into the s battle if hybrid vs. purebred. After this post about the saras, I'm done with the hybrid post.  They can find out on their own.

i agree if they already told you how they feel and you have answered their questions what is the point of being a broken record.
Well i hope to see more pictures of how they progress because i think they are beautiful creatures.

Looks like a crest-less crested gecko. The genetics must be so close that there isn't even much of a hybridization.

I would have to Disagree.   They look nothing like a crested. More like a Sara. Body shape, head. The only thing is some of their colors like these two with the chevon back and the tails. Will have to take some up to date pics.
