It's a...

drum-roll, please...

HATCHLING!!!

MY FIRST!!!

After over 40 eggs-virgin, dud and fertile, all of which got moldy or had tiny thready worms on them, one of my eggs finally HATCHED!!!

I checked at around noon, and found this little sweetie curled up by the other eggs!!!

I was starting to think that I was the cold hand of death when it comes to gecko eggs, so this little baby really restores my faith in my abilities!!

I had one hatch today as well- after getting back from my grandmother's funeral. a little something to brighten my day =]

this was actually my first hatchling from the first eggs I ever found- I just moved a boy in with my girls not too long ago. STOKED though.
high five! =]

Bad-one-yeah-I know what you mean-REALLY dark.  I hope it stays that way!!!  Mommy and Daddy are both especially dark, so maybe it'll carry over to the babies.

Missturpak-sorry to hear about your loss.  All my grandparents are deceased, so I know it's hard.   Cry

But yes-while we miss our grandparents, we can still high-five and do the Happy Dance over our babies, and if your grandparents are anything like mine, they're up there in Heaven smiling and saying we did a good job!!

Thank you both for the congrats!!!

I've got clutch-mate!!!

He was here when we got back from dinner.

He looked dead-probably tired from getting out of the egg-so I scooted him with the tip of my finger-nail, and this is what I got for my efforts!!!

What a BRAT!!  But he's so cute, I guess I can forgive him!!!

Its funny when geckos are mad, especially babies

The clutch mate is cool looking as well, has the same cream color just not quite as dark, awesome!

Thanks everyone!!!

I think they're pretty sweet, too!!!

I guess I picked a good pairing here, and will probably repeat it in the future.  Most of my adult gex are lavender creams, so that's the main project this year.

I put Sui-our olive dalmatian-in with my new guy-Jack Bauer.

He's a nice olive solid with an awesome mustard colored head and back.

They got a late start, so I'm still waiting for eggs.  It didn't help that when I put Jack in with Sui, Katey FREAKED and yelled at Jack when he attemped to mate with Sui, and startled the heck out of him.

I guess she thinks her "baby" isn't ready to be a momma yet... Roll Eyes

Ive never seen hatchlings that were any other color then brick red, that is so cool!

Although I cant agree geckos are cute when they are mad, especially when the anger results in a bite to my cheek.
