fruit fly problem

does anyone know a homemade way to get rid of fruit fly's? Almost everythign we have eats fruit so we have a ton of fruit flys! thanks guys

Put out a glass of wine!!! They'll make their way over to it and end up drowning. You can get real creative and add a funnel over the glass that reaches just above the liquid so the ones that fly in get stuck or drown.

We will try anything, they are taking over. We can't get rid of them, we have been cleaning stuff and taking the garbage out more and doing everything we can! They are taking over the place!!!

do you know where they are coming from? an apple behind the counter or something? are they in your gecko room/area?

They are coming from the animals room. So im guessing theres somethign around somewhere, i guess ill look around. thanks

We get fruit flies in the house from buying bananas at Wal*Mart, I guess some of them migrate to the gecko cage...thanks for the wine tip I'll give it a try too.

I get fruit flys whenever cgd is out for a few days. I got them all the time when i was using baby food.

ok well the wine thing didnt work we ended up knocking it over and having to clean up all the spilled wine. I think it's just from havign the diet out for a few days....

im gonan try this thought. we tried this but we couldnt find anything small enough or big enough for them to get into... so yeah. We still have them/.
