After last years christmas we had some cardboard rolls left over from the wrapping paper and ribbon. I found that i could just cut them into nice little replacable half logs for the geckos.   They only last a few weeks a most( depends how thick the cardboard is) as long as you don't spray them. 

So yeah, any cardboard roll works, it seems like a nice way to recycle the darn things.

Heres a thick one that has lasted quite well from a ribbon roll (she is biting her tail lol):

I actually tried that once. But then I got too lazy to cut them, they are pretty thick.
