have been thinking about this for some time........i wonder if it would fix the problem or cause the disease to mutate. From what i have been told cresteds are the only ones to be effected by this, so by crossing them would this help keep them from getting this.....

or could it be possible that the disease could mutate to effect both chahouas and cresties now....what you guys think.....i dont wanta test any of these things...but i would like to hope that by crossing them, they might not be able to get it anymore....

Just one more thing to worry about with hybrids!!

IDK...on one hand it could be a GOOD thing, on the other, DISASTER!

Well it would be hard to say.  First, you would have to make sure that it is not hearsay that only cresties can be affected by this.  Then you would have to determine if it is a genetic factor that allows them to be infected THEN you would need to determine what type of gene it is.  Codom, sex linked, recessive whatever.  I guess you'd first have to expose a chewie to the disease and see if contracts it and comes down with a full blown case of if not then you would have to do the same thing with a hybrid.  (we know that ain't gonna happen) Wink
