Lance, you know I think the hybrids are cute so don't be offended.  People who buy those are going to do one of three things with them- keep them as pets, breed them to other cresteds, or breed them to other chahouas.  Like you said people sell w/c animals as c/b or cbb all the time which is bad enough, but doesn't have the possibility of genetically changing a species like mishandled hybrids do.  Look at the snake world.  There is continuous debate and arguments over some species which now have no way to tell what is what anymore.  Cresteds and Chahouas are an endangered species so we can't or at least shouldn't risk the possibility of them becomming one due to dishonest breeders and sellers.  Just because you will represent these animals as what they are you already know others will not do the same so what exactly is the point?  I love their looks and yes there is a market for them, but there is an equally substantial market for each species on their own without risking the purity of the hobby we all love.  I know its exciting to see them even I enjoy peeking and I am excited for you, but in the end something bad is going to come from hybridization jusy as it has in the snake world.  You can't screen every customer or control what they do with these hybrids once out of your hands.

i understand your concerns, im not the 1st to do this or the last...as you can see from their look and colors.... someone was dishonest......well just look at them, their is no way to think thats a crested. I would love to get one of these for someone lieing about what it is, it wouls save me alot of money....but yes i see others trying this and because their is only a hand full of us in the US doing this...i think theirs only about 50 of them in the US, and yes i could sell to someone, they mislable them and so on...even if i never started this project...other people will and are doing this also....im just one of the only public about it, so i get it all taken out on me...and im ok with that. i think the best way to not get a mislabled hybird is to not get pure cresteds from people you dont know, or dont get geckos from other doing this...but i will tell you their are BIG names doing this also...just JFYI...lp

Yes Lance I know many of these big names doing it and shunning others for doing the same oh the hypocracy, lol!!  I like that you are doing it public and of course you personally are not bringing down the gene pool because others are doing the same.  I will and have always said they look cool as sh!t its just sad that in a few years we all are going to have to be careful about who we buy our chewies and cresteds from.  I breed both just not together, but my daughter saw her first hybrid at Hamburg and won't stop asking for one now.  She may be allowed to keep one as a pet, but I am making her really think about it first.

Think it's still up in the air. No one knows because their still new, as far as i know F2's (25% crested X %75 chahouas) have been produced, i think they will be bred back into the 50/50 cross, becuase most people stay quite about their findings, no one knows whats out their..
