We bought a leo for bf's sis and kept him for a week to make sure he was eating etc, which he was. He went to her's and has been on hungerstrike since, about a week. He's back now but not eating at all. I got him out earlier and gave him some gecko diet on a cotton wool bud he had some but not much.he has very small crix but even so he seems a bit scared of them. Any ideas? I don't mind hand feeding him gecko diet but if there's another way I don't know about itd be much appreciated.

Leos are insectivores... Your feeding it Crested Gecko Diet?  It is supposed to be eating bugs... Crickets, mealworms, that sort of stuff... I may be mistaken, you just keep saying diet, and that usually turns out to be CGD, so correct me if I'm wrong. And Leo as in Leopard Gecko, not Leo as the name or your Crested Gecko right?

Hi, yeah leopard gecko Smiley the petstore gave us leopard gecko dust and said we could mix it up for him similar to CGD.he's had a bit of that but won't touch crix/mealworms/waxworms he has had those on offer all the time, though the crix were pestering him so they came out. He is scared of his food or something he jumps away from it. His temp is around 90f and he has a hide and plenty of clean water, I just don't know. He isn't even interested in a cricket held infront of him. Worried that if he doesn't eat something he's going to starve himself to death. Any tips?

If its this leopard gecko dust

javascript:OpenWindow('http://www.petco.com/Shop/AlternateImages.aspx?FamilyID=10999&sku=', 420, 510, 'AlternateImages', 2);

its an insect balancer youre meant to dust youre feeder insects with it not mix it into a paste, has he been kept on sand and if so check his stomach for any black/blue spots, this might be a sign of impaction.

The pet store told you to mix it up like CGD?! Wow... No, it's a dust used to dust the insects with, that's all.  You can't mix it with water to feed the Leos, they HAVE to eat insects. I know you are only watching this guy for a while, but I HIGHLY suggest doing a bit of research on Leos.  This is very simple information you should be able to find anywhere.

The substrate was beech but now he is on tissue.I called the petstore and they said we should move his hide to the cool end and cover up half of the top witha towel and keep noise to a minimum. So we've done that fingers crossed it'll work. I know they eat insects but the thing is he ISN'T eating them it's not that I'm not offering them to him.I've taken out the paste stuff. I know what temp he should be at and what set up and food but I've never had a leo before and only got our first lizards a few months back, I know what he is SUPPOSED to be doing but not sure why he isn't doing that if that makes sense.

If your pet store told you to feed Leopard Gecko dust the same way you would feed CGD, I don't know how much I would ask them anymore.  You should have a hide on the warm end and on the cool end of the cage. You should also have a humid hide in there as well, which can be used for one of the hides. How big is the gecko?  Are you sure the food you are trying to feed it isn't too big?

What are the temps in his tank?  Do you have an under the tank heat pad or light over head?  Does he have access to a shallow water dish?

We keep our girl on paper towel too.  She has a night bulb to keep her temps in the high 60s at night, and add a day bulb to reach mid-high 70s during the day.  She had a hidy log thing on the warm end, her wet hide and her "jaguar skull" are on the cool side.  I put the calcium/vit d powder in a dish.  It's easier for my 10 yo to feed her if he doesn't have to dust the crickets first.  I've seen her licking it, so I know she's getting her "vitamins."  We keep the crickets in a critter keeper with food and water, and give her two every night.

Way too cold for a Leopard Gecko, these aren't Crested Geckos, they are pretty much the opposite of a Crested. You want the warm side of the cage around 90ish during the day maybe as low as 80ish at night. I would highly suggest reading a few care sheets to learn the basic things that you need to know about these guys.  It would just be a shame for something bad to happen to her. You want to dust the crickets even if you are leaving a dish of it in there.  You may have seen it licking the powder, but it may not be getting as much as it should which would be on the crickets. 2 crickets every other night is not enough for a Leopard Gecko to be eating either.

Hi, his temps are 90 in warm end, he has 2 hides now one with damp moss. He is pooing and seems to be eating a little. His crickets are tiny, prob around 3mm. He's about 4inches inc his tail
