Ok, I'm not big into the ball python morph thing and all that stuff.  I have a chance to grab this male for $100 and I have a female that's more than ready to breed right now.  Does this look like a pastel to you and do you think it's worth $100?

It looks like a pastel but $100 is too much for a male.  They sell here all the time for $50.  The pet store here has them listed at $80

Really??? It's hard to get a normal around here for $50.  I also forgot to mention that it's a proven male, does this make any difference?

He is a definite 100% pastel, and pretty nice looking too. Sometimes a proven male will cost more( matters a lot more for females).

I agree  about the price thing, I would have trouble getting a pastel male for anything less than 150. When it comes to price, I think thats pretty good and he is good looking to me.

What matters is if you are happy with him for the price  Cool

Wel, the problem now is wether or not the snake is healthy.  We were talking to someone and supposedly he has some pretty bad snakes, so we definitely have to take a look at it first, we have no clue how old that picture is.

Last year and this year?  I dont see how they're asking that much.  They're fifty bucks all day here.  I bought an adult male for $300 3 or 4 years ago but the prices are way down now.

Since I've seen this guys I've been looking up a ton of stuff about pastels. Firecrested, are you sure that they are really Pastels and not just nice looking normals being passed off as pastels?  From everything I have been looking up about them, it is very uncommon to see any pastel under $150, BUT I've also noticed alot of people saying that people are selling "pastels" for dirt cheap, but are not really pastels.  They just happen to be nice looking normals that they are trying to pass off as pastels.  After looking and looking and looking, if you have pastels around your area all day for $50-$80 and they are actually real pastels, I HIGHLY suggest grabbing every single one of them and throwing them online for $150 each, cuz I can almost guarantee you will get it.

I am positive they are pastels.  Smaller pastels are easy to tell apart from normals when they are young, they are much brighter.
The males are going for $50, and females for $100 to $200.  I just got back from the pet store and he has one left for $119 and he charges double whatever he pays.

i dont know what's with the price increase but they were on kingsnake last year for $100 or less for males.  The price on some of the kingsnake ads are just about spider ball prices.  They dropped down to $300 last year and I got mine at a discount for $200 because I knew the breeder.

Its pretty obvious thats its either a good normal or a crappy pastel( well to those familiar with the morphs). I can see things being pulled on newbies to ball pythons.

Besides the one sure fire test- check for green eyes Cheesy ( and yeah, baby pastels are very easy to point out)

As for buying them all up and reselling.... I'd have to agree. You could turn a decent profit, pending quality of the the pastels.

Nope, nice pastels, not normals, not a crappy pastel. Nice bright yellow pastels.  50 bucks.
Wait until everyone hatches out all their babies again this year.  You will see the prices drop again.  The prices listed now are not normal pastel prices.
I bought a lot of ball pythons last year at shows and online and the pastels were way lower than the ones listed now.
