This guy is up on craigslist in my area. The owner says he's a YEAR old (wow) and has only shed once. She said that she wants to sell him for $75, but I told her I wouldn't pay for the dragon because he obviously needs medical care immediately, and I don't have the money to do both.

BUT a good friend of mine is going to help me get him (she's going to buy some supplies from me for $75) and another friend is sending me some stuff to help get him going.  Grin

I have two tegus I'm adopting out with a fee to help with him as well (vet bills). I'm pretty sure he has parasites and MBD. I hope I can save this little guy!

I'm amazed what a beardie can live with.  Some people tried to give me a beardie that was supposed to be about 3-4 yrs old and was the most unhealthy animal I have EVER seen.  He was about eight inches long, dehydrated, had severe MBD (his legs looked like folded straws and his lips couldn't even sit properly on his lower jaw!), and had only been eating crickets and mealworms.

They brought him in in a $500 Vision cage, with a heatrock and a 30 watt bathroom fixture bulb.  After I explained the myriad of health problems he had and why, all they could say is "we didn't know."  ACK! Why is it SOOOO HARD for people to read a simple care sheet on their animal!!

Here's another one...a lady came in last week to get crickets and said she goes through 36 a day for her two foot Savannah.... who she refuses to feed rodents to because she "heard" it will make him aggressive.  If you can't feed rodents, DON'T BUY A MONITOR!!!

Anyways, I hope you get him and he does well for you!

It's crazy how people just don't see that the animal is unhealthy. So sad.

She won't feed rodents because they'll make him aggressive? What the crap? Retarded, really. Tell her to get pre-killed. Live ones CAN make them aggressive, but pre-killed won't.

Thanks!

Believe me.... I tried the pre-killed route.  She said she's tried, but he won't touch it unless it's moving.  She's just one of those people who hears what they want to hear, and disregards what she doesn't want to believe.  She's gonna end up with an emaciated monitor.

Love those kind of people.  I deal with them all the time.
