My normal boy Anbis had a spur fall off today, the conditions are clean in his tank and he is healthy otherwise( nice fat boy). He did this a while back with the other and I assumed it was just a freak thing, its growing back just fine, but I've noticed the way his spurs sit rather deep in their little cubby spot, so the tips dont rest free and are tucked in( like an ingrown nail but not into the flesh, just sitting kinda trapped there) whereas my pastel guy has spurs that rest normally.

Could a bad shed or being trapped like that cause them to fall off? , the little nail looked normal and not deformed or affected by bacteria.( Looked kinda like a cat claw as they shed them)

Note: I bought this guy 3 years ago from petco, if he is farmed( I don't know if he is CB or WC )I would suspect a genetic problem. Either way I'd never breed him.

I looked, i found one thread that talked about a broken spur and the general consensus was that as long as the snake remains healthy, its alright.

I think ill just keep an eye on him and see if anything new pops up.( There was no blood so that was good, its just kinda wierd... but the other one has grown back most of the way)
