Has anyone ever heard of or tried the Nature Zone Gecko Bites?  I'd never heard of them until cruising the Petsmart site a minute ago.  They're advertised for fruit-eating geckos, and I think there is a picture of a Crested on the bag.  I didn't check out the nutritional info or the ingredients, I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them...

Yup-they sell them at PetCo, too.

They were out of Trex CGD at the time, so I grabbed a box, and all my gex avoid them like THE PLAGUE!!!  Even the fruit-loving Goldens.

They smell like a combo of fruit, plastic and CRAP, and remind me of the Orange Cubes diet for crickets.

They're a waste of time and money if the gex won't touch them-even if they're supposed to be the "perfect diet" for them-which I highly doubt.

I may end up using them to gut-load the crix, though... Tongue

Yeah, I was gonna say that they reminded me of a semi-solid cricket diet...

Yeah, we tried mushing it and cutting it up really small, a couple geckos ate very little, but for the most part, nobody wanted anything to do with it.

CGD is really the first complete diet I've had any success with.

I remember trying anole food, day gecko food and leo food with ZERO success. I do have mixed success with my beardie food though...

I was a little wary of CGD when I started using it, but I'll swear by it now because my Rhacs can't get enough!

Not to worry, Terradas... this wasn't a CGD vs. Gecko Bites thread!  I feed CGD (crickets once a week) only already.  I can't imagine trying to get my hatchlings to eat the bites.  I was really just curious about the semi-solid form of the Gecko Bites, and if anyone had any success with getting theirs to eat it.  My questions have been answered!  Wink
