Congrats. I just got a sweet pair of these guys. I really love them too. They love the crestie diet and barely touch crix. They ignore them pretty much and just eat the crestie food.
Very sweet little guys.

I hate you guys....i really do like mine, but after almost 3 months he STILL isn't eating anything and has lost over 8 grams. I'm seriously kicking myself for not spending the extra $10 and grabbing that one last baby you had in Hillsboro, Lance!

Great thanks for the tip. I gave them a container with a hole in it with some moist orchid moss. They avoid it like the plague.

3 months! What are the temps. in his enclosure He won't even touch crickets? Wow. He must be drinking water. Is he drinking from a dish or licking the water when you mist him? One last thought. Is HE a HE for sure? If not perhaps you should put a tube like Lance did in the tank. Could be HE wants to lay eggs if HE is a she and isn't inclined to eat because of that. That could be one of million scenerios I guess but just throwing a few things out there.

So caps on BOTH ends with a whole cut into the tube somewhere? So I would need a tube thick enough for them to turn around in then even if ya only cap one side and leave the other open.

Do you put anything moist in it or just an empty tube?
do they breed easily, like cresteds or do they need cooling to get them to breed?

hey have been ok...but not easy, if crested are a 10, i would say their about a 6/7, i use different things in the bottom, moss mostly, they only lay eggs about every 5 to 8 weeks tho

Nope....have never seen ANY food actually disappear form his dish, or any crickets dead from anything but natural causes! He's only made it this long because I actually put a syringe of food in his mouth (the butthead won't even swallow in front of me!) every other day.
He is definitely a "he", and he has a natural set-up that is fine for him.
Funny story.... I had some overripe bananas and pears that I fed to everyone last night, and while it doesn't look like the cresties took to it, the gehyra ate ALL the banana (and I think I just interrupted him going for the pear)! What a break-through! Lance told me they loved banana, but I never gave him the real deal!

I bought one of these last February as a hatchling and its a pretty cool gecko. I am scared to take it out though because they look so fast. Are they easy to calm down if they've never been handled?
I gave mine tubes from the first day I bought him. I actually had him in a large cricket keeper with all the tubes hanging down.
Nice Job on the hatchling LP.
