I made this for myself to celebrate my first hatchlings. I thought I'd show it to you guys because when I finished it, I wondered if anyone would appreciate it as much as i do. (and nine hours is a little much if you don't have anyone to show).
it's 18K rose gold and 19K white gold. it can be worn three ways as a pendant, or as a pin.
This could be considered off topic? I just thought you guys might like to see.

Thanks! I didn't know where to put it...plus I think it would get out done in "eye candy" it's nice, but still not as cool as the real thing! Wink

I think you're just too modest-i know I couldn't make jewelry that looks like that!

sure you could! you just need eight or ten years of training, and ten grams of gold...oh, and a pin back....and a full work day where you can't think of anything but geckos!

Besides my wedding ring, and a locket and pair of earrings my mom left me, I don't go in for jewelry.  I have some (sterling silver and a little white gold-none of it really deserves to be called jewelry, if you get me!)...I just  NEVER wear it or switch it out.  I also don't like gold (yellow).  That said...

Your creation is a beautiful piece of art!  If I could afford something like that, I would buy it in a heartbeat.  The detail of the crests is amazing, and I think you captured the gecko as a whole wonderfully.

Two thumbs and a couple of big-toes UP!  I'm seriously a bit envious!   Shocked

That is neat! Really well done, you're quite talented...

It would be so cool if you sold stuff like that at shows! Lots of people here at the shows sell homemade jewelry... mind you, not everyone would have the cash to pay for something made of gold, but it would be really awesome anyway. Cheesy

thanks guys! too bad it's too complex for production. i origionally thought i might be able to do it as production in 925 for the next tera's show (local reptile show) but the crests and the toes took a long time to cut...like, double what i thought, and also locally, the reptile demographic is mostly male...and i think they'd be a tough sell even if they were scaled up in size. Anyway, i'm glad you guys think it's cool (I was feeling a little eccentric when I posted it) Wink

Magnificent piece.  And it would sell at the shows.  That demographic has wives girlfriends and kids.  We sell lots of Jewelry at our Rescue table at the shows.  People seem to love Turtle anything.  To bad it is too complex it really is a stunning piece of work.
