This isn't anything serious...just an idea I had the other day.

If I were to hold some sort of "Crested Fest" in Kansas City, how many people would come?

It would basically just be a small(ish) get-together where people could swap geckos, show off geckos, talk geckos, have a cookout...or if everyone would chip in a few bucks, maybe cater in some of the best BBQ on earth from one of KC's world famous BBQ restaurants?

I also have access to my neighborhood clubhouse, which has a big swimming pool, pool tables, a huge dining room and kitchen, etc.

Like I said, though...I'm just thinking out loud and wanting to hear some feedback.  I have no idea when, how or even if we will do anything like this, but it doesn't seem like too bad of an idea.

DAMN, Anthony!!

I'd LOVE it, but it would have to be over the summer, 'cause Katey's in school...and I wouldn't DARE go without her!!! Cry

It'd be a GREAT excuse to hop a train (I LOVE train trips-and my car probably wouldn't make it) and HEAD WEST!!!

If you decide to do this, KEEP US POSTED!!!

As I'm on the west coast....I'd be jealous!  There are quite a few of you who are in rage of such an event, though, so if it happens I expect mass quantities of pictures!!   Tongue

In range-my BUTT!!!

I live in Buffalo, NY!!!

But it would be worth the trip to meet Anthony and others from the forum, get some new geckos, show off my babies, talk and hang out and get to know my online friends!!!

Maybe we could even convince Anthony to give us a tour of his facility!?!?

If I wasn't trapped in the Great White North with no money I would be there in a heartbeat.

I think it's a fantastic idea and a fun opportunity for those who would be able to go. DO IT.  Grin

Ditto. lol  Kansas is a little far for me.  How long of a drive would it be from Ottawa, anyways? lol

with ample notice (1.5 months-ish) i think it's a great excuse to get out of the house and have a BBQ. somewhere wth hotels near buy or an organized couch surfing. i think months like April or May when its not too hot yet would be nice. otherwise i'd be stuck inside the entire time trying not to pass out from heat stroke. Anthony,

I'm pretty far away (Baltimore, MD)... but if you organized an event like that, I would try my hardest to get down to Kansas!   I think it sounds like a great idea.  I often find myself wishing I could meet and talk with people on here face to face.

I am definately in, and I agree on a month or so advance so I can start saving up money since everytime I go to a place with cresteds I seem to buy way more than I had planned on.

LOL  Crablady, I would swing by Sarnia if I was going. LOL  Still too far and too costly to get my rear down there.  Maybe when I'm not just going back to school for round 2. (Did I mention that??)  lol  Tuition = scary. lol

I would loooove to go, but there's no way for me to know whether I could yet. Boyfriend and I are students and both work as well, but it would depend on when it was. Kansas city would be a bit of a drive, but if I could pull it off schedule-wise, I'd be there.

So for me it depends on the date.
