Found some Mourning geckos

I found some of these locally and had them delivered to our show last week.
One is about halfway grown so maybe I will get eggs before the year is over.

Very cool!  Your two seem to have slightly thicker tail bases than mine.  I got a gravid female at a show last weekend and am waiting for her to lay.  As soon as my younger two get a bit more size I'll put them in with the adult.  I can't wait 'til they're all in the same enclosure!  They will be a lot of fun to watch!

Can I ask what you ended up paying for them?  My gravid female was $13, and each of the hatchlings were $10.  Just wondering what the price differences may be in different areas...

i picked up a couple of the mourning geckos at the show too 
when i got home i was so tired i accidentally let one out and was chasing it around my room for at least half n' hour....and i thought crested hatchlings are fast!

Did you get the hatchlings from Paul Davis or the adults from The Bean Farm?  My adult I got still hasn't laid, but I keep checking! 

You want to talk about fast....ANY house gecko types is nearly impossible!  I had to chase one down in the backroom at work once, and I was sweating by the time I was done!

 These were $20 each.  I bought them from the same person a year or two ago for $25.

i picked them all up from the Bean Farm table, who was selling them for the Global Gecko Association lady...i think Betty is her name?...turns out she lives pretty close to me 
i really like the flying gecko she had. so much skin on such a little gecko 

i think one is gravid, i put in a lot of paper towels and easy to remove things to get the eggs out. keeping my fingers crossed!

Mourning geckos are so cool, but definitely not a gecko you would handle.  I once lost my entire colony in my basement.  I luckily still had 3 or 4 eggs, which I hatched out and re-started my group.

I think they're a bargain considering what a pain they are to raise up from babies (just because of their size) and they're definitely popular and hard to find.  I get requests constantly with only a few pictures on my website.   I imagine if more people knew about them, they'd cost about the same as CB day geckos ($50-100).

Fun fact - After it was described as its own species (Lepidodactylus lugubris), it was later discovered that the mourning gecko is actually a hybrid of two other Lepidodactylus species.

Here's a good picture to show how small the babies are.  I had to cool this one off in my refrigerator (in an insulated box/deli cup) for a few minutes in order to take this picture.

Aren't they an all female specie?  How is it possible they could hybridize?
