I was into snakes before I got more into lizards. Have experience with ball pythons, true red tails as well as columbians (boa constrictor constrictor versus constrictor imperator), carpet pythons, corn snakes, rosy boas, and have worked with maaannny others. All that we have left are a ball python and a true red tail (Suriname). The ball was our first snake and we are sentimental about him-- he isn't really anything special as far as balls go. Our second (the true red tail) is my precious Uma who is just too damned cool to let go of. I've toyed with the idea of selling/trading her to a carefully chosen person, but then I just think about how awesome and sweet she is. She may be my only snake or I may eventually get a blood python and/or either an emerald tree boa or GTP. Other than that I don't have much more interest in collecting snakes.
Anyway, here are some pictures of Uma:

Sorry for the horrid background-- I'm not a very great photographer and I just picked the room that had the best light.

Also, she is getting close to shedding. Normally she is more of a grey-purple where she is grey-brown in the pics. Suri's are supposed to have more of a pink tint than a purple, which is more characteristic of a guyana red tail, which is why I have sometimes questioned whether she is a Suri or a Guyana. But those two types are pretty interrelated anyhow.

Nothing is as refreshing as seeing a well kept enclosure with clean healthy thriving animals doing what they do. Dont let your animals live in nasty little homes. Also, our voices do make a difference. Pay attention to warnings about reptile bans and such, sign a petition, be heard, it works. Thanks
