Why? I have NO idea!  One of my customers came in and gave it to me...he caught it while hunting a few days ago.  Anyone have any experience with the best things to feed it?  He's (she's?) already eaten a big cricket, but I know they primarily eat dead organic matter.  Anyone ever been bit?  I'm just kind of wondering what to expect...just in case!

I haven't seen them in years, and forgot how freaking HUGE they are!  Like an ant/wasp cross on steroids!  Shocked

Here 'ya go, Fossillady....

I don't plan on giving it a chance too!  From what I've heard, read and observed, those pincers pack quite a whallup!!

Maybe greenbeans are NOT a jerusalem cricket diet staple... Undecided

I have not looked them up or anything but I used to work at a museum and took care of many inverts there. We got in some huge lubber grasshoppers once. They were fed romaine lettuce. They didnt live long but that was probably mainly because this place shipped them out on theyre last couple weeks of life anyways. Maybe you can try the lettuce if you ever come across another one.

I have seen these guys many times in my yard but, I have always heard of them to be june bugs. I  seem to find them  burried under things, and usually when they come out randomly they die within a few hours. I'm not sure why.
