Is it OK to use fake silk plants from Walmart? Are they toxic or just the same as ones they sell in petstores? I washed them with soap... Just wanted your opinion.

Thanks!

Yeah they're safe, butr SOAP IS NOT!!!

Get yourself some ZooMed Wipe-out-I'm not sure which number it is...the stuff for tank funriture, etc.

Check out the website...I think this is it...

http://www.zoomed.com

If that doesn't work, google ZooMed, or check for tank cleaning supplies at your local petshop.

as long as you didn't use much soap (only a tsp per gallon) and rinsed it really well you should be fine, that's how i've cleaned all mine for the past 3 years and never had an issue.  I use to boil them and let them air dry, but that obviously takes a lot longer and you don't want to use a pot you're going to eat out of sometime, just in case.

Did you have them shipped or something?  If so it shouldn't take you longer than 15 min to wash the plants, you really should wash them even if they're new, unless they were vaccum packed or something... It won't kill the geckos to wait a couple mins while you make sure their cage is clean and ready for them!

Just rinse them in nice hot water-let them soak for about 5 minutes.

The plants don't have to be in the tank the minute the geckos get there.

And I buy most of my fake plants at dollar stores.

Dollar Tree always has nice fake garlands, and I cut them to the length I need and add suction hooks to them.

Yes, the geckos have already arrived to my town (tracking rocks!) And the soap has all natural ingrediants and it says that if consumed drink a glass of water. I will soak everything as soon as possible!
