I go out to our grandparents farm every year to look for Canebrakes and Pygmy rattlesnakes but never any luck.  I find a couple water snakes and a bunch of turtles and frogs though.  I'm not sure why I havent found any.  It's perfect for snake hunting.  Big aluminum pieces everywhere on the ground from an old barn's roof.

Okay, I'll admit that rattlesnakes are cool TO LOOK AT FROM FAAAAR AWAY.  These are the cutest little freakin' rattlers I've ever seen!

i almost got hit last year when i went out for my yearly photo sessions. i look for timber rattlers mostly in the fall. last year i found the biggest one i have ever found. when i pulled him out he was a little pissy. guess it wasn't cool enough yet. anyway to make the sorry short. he hit the lens on my camera. i will either wait till it cools down a little more this year or just wont mess with the big ones this year. kinda scared now.

Cheesy I bet you had to change your pants when you got home.  I had a close call with an Eastern Diamondback when i kept them.  I reached down to pick up an empty tub but forgot he was in it, he struck and hit part of the top with screen covering it and some venom squirted out on my hand.

Both those stories remind me why I dont even want to see one except in pictures or on tv, no matter how cool they look.
