Over the last 3 months I finaly got my self a pair of crested geckos. I've though about keeping them just about as long as I've kept herps (the last 7 years) though they really haven't been availible for a great price here. I have no problem understanding morphs but the color phases seem to get me lost.

This guy was sold to me as a rust, I've got to say I haven't seen a rust color on him at all. He does have a nice blush to him. I tried to get a picture of it but he just wanted to jump on my camera. I would think the color is more yellow or olive. Any thoughts?

This girls still a bit young I think she'll end up black/chocolate or a good dark red. In the picture she's in shed.

First one looks like a VERY NICE buckskin or cream to me, but may turn rust as it grows up.

The second looks ot me like a lavendar and cream.  Looks like there are some flames or harly marks, but the plant is obscurring most of the gecko.

Thanks for your reply. I know he's at least 9 months so I don't think he'll change much. He does get alittle more orange when he's fully fired up but not to the point where I would feel right calling him a orange.

After seeing this one after her shed and fired up tonight I have to say shes a lavander. I don't really know what creams look like when their fired up, but when she is the head and markings are a milk chocolate color.

Here are some pictures I took tonight of them fired up.

Creams stay cream when fired up or not,  It usually refers to the flame patterns on the gecko.

The female is a dark harley but at that size can still turn out male.
The male looks to have some rust colors on the side but I would still call him an olive or buckskin.
