How can I prevent my new geckos (My first obviously) dropping their tails when they arrive? I mean when they arrive in the deli cups, how do I take them out? I know I shouldn't handle them for two weeks, but how do I work with them when I take them out? Should I place the open deli cups into the tank and let them do the rest? Or should I very gently take them out?? Huh
I read how this person got this excellent red harly and got carried away taking pics... And then it happened. It's not that bad if they drop them but I would still would like to know how to prevent it. Grin

It just depends on the gecko.  I take pics of every new gecko when they arrive, take them out and look them over really good and none have dropped a tail.

The one with the red harley was something that doesnt happen often.

So I should just take them out and palce them carefully in the tank, right?

Just be careful with them, also housing two juvies together can cause tail loss. My only 2 that are together sometimes think each others tails are food when I fed crickets, they dont get crickets anymore.
