Welcome to the forums! All I really care is that we have quality posts, accurate information and no drama. I don't have time to micro-manage the forums, so they are pretty loosely moderated. If a post is too far out of line, I'll probably just remove it without notice.
Here are a few basic guidelines...
- Keep the language and subject matter reasonable...somewhere between Disney and Dave Chapelle works for me. There may be some semi-adult content and/or language, so if you're truly offended by that kind of thing, don't say I didn't warn you!

Keep things friendly and polite. Intelligent discussion and debate is encouraged, but please keep the conversation on its original topic and refrain from trying to discredit other people. If your side of the debate is presented in an intelligent manner, you shouldn't have to resort to discrediting or insulting anyone.
In over three years, this forum has been relatively drama free. We have had a couple of argumentative members in the past, but if you ask any of our members about them, they probably won't remember...that's because those members' posts and accounts disappeared rather quietly. Remember I'm a website design guy and I can make it so you can't even look at this website, let alone log in and start more trouble. :-)
- Read at your own risk! Members are asked to only hand out advice that they know is sound and if I see any advice that could potentially pose a health threat, the post will be removed without warning and/or corrected. However, I can't monitor the forums 24 hours a day, so follow any advice you're given at your own risk. The forum is not meant to replace the guidance of a well-qualified herp veterinarian.
- Post things in proper English (no AOL short-hand). This isn't a chat room, so you have all the time you need to type a legible sentence.
- Do a search of the forums and look at the Ciliatus.com FAQ section before posting a question. You may find the answer to your problem faster than you can type the question.
- No advertising of any kind outside of the member classifieds section.
- Obnoxious Signatures - You may place your website link in your signature, but no logos or other types of advertising please. This stuff takes up a lot of room in the threads and can look pretty obnoxious when a lot of users are doing it. If you wish to have your logo in your avatar, you're more than welcome to do so.
- This forum isn't the place for buyers to make complaints about sellers. That's what the FaunaClassifieds.com Board of Inquiry (BOI) is for and I encourage everyone to make use of that resource, should they need to make a complaint about a seller.
- I reserve the right to remove any post or any member for any reason. Just use your best judgement and try to behave like an adult and we shouldn't have any problems.
