Went to the Atlanta show today and picked up one of the only three Suriname (/Guyanan) redtails there. Beautiful female around a year old. Feels and looks very healthy. Only thing is the guy said that she can get pissy at feeding time, meaning once she gets done she acts like she's still hungry and is aggressive. Anybody have an idea on how to break this behavior? He was feeding her a small rat every two weeks. Would switching her to one mouse each week instead be an okay idea?

a lot of snakes are like that right after feeding.  the scent of their food is still in the cage.  They see a warm hand moving and smell mouse or rat and bam.  I wouldnt bother them anyway right after feeding even if they didnt bite.

I wouldnt switch to one mouse a week if she is a year old.  A small rat sounds about right.
