Two more from petco

I went into petco for my weekly crested search and found two of the nicest cresteds i've seen there.  First i saw a bright orange patternless, then under their hiding log was a red flame with partial pinstripes.  The orange one has a solid dirty white tail.  The red flame was a little grumpy when i took him out of the petco box

I'm jealous man.  When I wasn't looking for cresteds I would see nice ones everywhere.  Once I wanted to get some, I couldn't find anything.  I like the male I got, but I wanted something different.  Everybody always finds something really nice at Petco, and at the moment all they have is a couple of normals.  One is a bit red, but I don't really like it and it's mean.  They are both just really plain.  I did find some really nice hatchlings at petco, but they were tiny.  I mean like, a week or two old.  You got some nice geckos there though.

Thanks. I go to petco all the time to see what they have.  most of the time i leave with nothing but sometimes you can find great deals on them. And from all the cresteds i have bought from them ( at least 30-40) they still give me a care sheet every time

whoa how many cresteds do you have?? do you buy a new crested every week?

I only have 12 now. I'll buy them whenever they have some that i like but most of the time the have really small babies or plain colored juvies.

i thought you just said you bought 30-40 of them from petco... ok im sorry im confused. Did you sell them?

i'll try again.? Most were sold. I started going to petco 2-3 years ago when they started carrying them and when i first learned about them.? I would buy some and resell them & make a little extra cash and I used the extra money to pay for the ones i was going to keep for myself, so it was like i was getting them almost free i did that for a couple months.? but most were sold because they turned out male or i didnt like the adult colors. or i saw another one i just had to have on the internet and sold a couple of them to get the other one.

That is a really good idea.? How much did you usually sell them for?? They are $50 at your Petco right?? That is a really good idea.? Now I will have to look more often for really nice cresties.  The only problem is, I probably wouldn't be able to sell them after I bought them.

It's hard to do it now.  since a lot of people are breeding them now and prices are very competitive.  Now I really dont go there to resell any unless they turn out male or have ugly adult colors. 

They were $67 after tax when i started, i think they had them at 55 or 59.99 plus tax then. and i sold them around $100-$150. It was before they marked them down to $49.99.  No one here knew what they were so they never sold so all you had to do was wait a couple months for them to grow and you could have your pick of males or females.  It's easier now to just sell your own  babies that you're not going to keep, you can be a little more flexible with the prices and have more info for the buyers (hatch date, growth chart...)
