I just got a small Crested Gecko book, "Crested Geckos from the experts At advanced vivarium systems", by Philippe de Vosjoli, and in one of his pictures with all the supplements and everything, it has a big tub of leopard gecko dust.  Is this good stuff to dust their crickets with?  I always have it because I have leopard geckos, so if it's good for the cresties to dust their crickets with, that would be great.
Thanks

He wrote somewhere that all the gecko dust is about the same thing.  They put different labels on it for the pet stores to sell as individual gecko supplements.

Ohhh ok... but they don't have crested gecko dust, only diet.  So the leopard gecko dust is good for them?

Yes. I am almost 100% sure he said they were all the same thing.  He said the mixtures are the same, it's just the packaging that's different

Oh yeah.  And when I'm using the dust, I don't need to use calcium or calcium and d3 dust right?

I'm not really sure.  I havent used the dust yet.  Does it say it has calcium in it?  If it does then i would say you probably dont need more calcium

Just read the leopard gecko dust description and you dont need to use calcium.  It's already added into it.

There is a source of calcium and D3 in the dust already. My 2 cents are if feeding Cgd as the main staple and occasional insects than absolutely use the dust to coat the crickets.

The dust is meant as an ICB "insect cricket balancer" giving insects a little more ummphh in nutritional value.

As far as using calcium in conjuction, i keep other reptiles as well and always have a jar handy. Especially when females have just finished laying i'll add a little extra calcium/no D3 to their food hoping to replace the calcium they lost when shelling their eggs.

Oh yeah, I will always be dusting the crickets, and always have pure calcium and calcium with d3 available for other animals that I have.
