I see this in fish all the time.  I’ve bred bettas for four years and over the years I’ve seen stuff being sold that is not at all ethical or practical or desirable.  Such a shovel heads, that is a severe deformity in the spine most breeders cull as soon as they notice, but some people try and sell them, coining them under a certain name to make some money off something that should be given away if the owner chooses not to keep it.

a little off topic but do you have a picture of that compared to what they should look like?  i'm curious.

That is quite amazing.... But most of the things that come out like that end up dead very soon after.  First off it's too young to go anyways.  But 10g for a deformed gecko that might be dead within the first year of it's life, not much of a gamble anybody should be willing to take. It's definately an awesome thing to see, but I personally think that you should keep it for yourself.

I myself see no problem in trying to sell a 2 headed gecko for some extended price, he most likely raised the eggs for sale and so I don't see why acquiring an incredible rarity like the one he has where he has should automatically change his mind. Especially if the gecko can go to someone who would care for it to the extent that it deserves if this guy isn't interested in keeping it for his own collection. BUT I do agree that there is a high likeliness of health problems and I feel like if this guy has any concern for his credibility as a breeder he has a responsibility to hold off and raise this rare specimen until A) he can gain a better idea as to any health related issues and B) the gecko is older than a couple weeks.

Well the ad has been removed, but that IS just wrong to try to sell it like that. I think people who think like that shouldn't be breeding animals in the first place... pet first, profit (if any at all!) second.

I wonder what caused him to remove the ad? Sale? Death? Ridicule? Or perhaps he just developed a fancy for that little two headed guy.
