Hi All,
Well I did not have much hope about the egg when I left work on Friday. It had started leaking again from another spot and more egg white was coming out more than from the other spot. So I did not expect to find the most frickin adorable little tiny BREATHING baby gecko in the cup when I got to work today. I am SO happy the little guy made it. OMG....it is so little. So how quickly will it want to eat? There is so little written about the babies and their care in the book I have. And are they super jumpy when this little....I need to transfer it out of the egg cup it is in into a small glass tank. I plan to just set the egg cup in the little glass tank and take the lid off and let the baby come out on its own but...
Thanks for all the thoughts last week about the egg....
Tammy

they wil start eating around 7 to 10 days old. Feed them small crickets that are no bigger that the length between the geckos eyes. 3 or 4 crickets 4 times a week. and don't froget the dust.

I knew it! It's a good thing you didn't cut it open. I would have never cut the egg open, why take the chance? This is why! That's awesome... you better post some pics of the little guy. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe they will start eating after their first shed, and you feed them just like you would feed your adults, just smaller. So every other day crickets, then baby food the next. Just make sure you get really small crickets. Good luck with the little guy, and congratulations.

Lol, well it worked now. It's so cute! Uh oh.. I don't know ifall the babies come out like that, but it likes like it has a kink in it's tail if not. Keep us updated on pics when it's colors start changing.

Ok, here are some much better photos...
At times it looks like his tail is kinked but mostly it looks fine so maybe it was tight in the egg?

And he should get pretty nice crests because the male has enlarged crests and a double spike. He is really cute and keeps changing colors before my eyes...from chocolate to a deep red to ?? whatever is next....

The male is a dark harley partial pin and the female is a bicolor with very bright orange/peach top part also a partial pin. I don't have photos right now but I will get some. Both have white fringe on rear legs. The babies should be pretty nice and both adults are from Randy at Neoscales and he has pretty nice cresteds.

CONTRATULATIONS!!!!? I would have put it down as DOA.? They usually start eaging 5-10 days after.? I offer cgd for the the first 2 weeks, some that i have hatched wouldnt take crickets as their first few meals and it's always good to get them started on cgd from the beginning so theres no trouble when they get older.

Hey Congrats!!!!!!!!! Glad to hear such a beauty hatched out for you!! Wow, both parents came from neoscales!! He was such a great guy, I got pringles (my super dalmatian) from him. I would just feed him cgd for the first couple of weeks then try the pinhead crickets. You may have to show him that it is food by putting some on his nose and watching him lap it up. Make sure you check him feet every day for any of the toes being stuck together, and mist him alot!!

Thanks...he is quite and handsome boy and cool thing about him is he has a great calm personality. His mate has been biting his tail (she thinks the tip is a cricket) and has done some serious damage and left his tail cut and bleeding. He never attacked her back and he has not tossed off his tail during one of the many attacks. I have her seperated right now to let her rest from three clutches of eggs and to let his tail heal. He is also a sweet guy to people and will walk on my hands once he calms down from the catch. The female is not so sweet and when I went to move her from his house to her own pad she bit me 4 times. At least it does not hurt physically....just my feelings Tammy
