Do you mean a black patternless? Or do you mean a black crestie with a lighter dorsum?

I have a male that is almost solid black or a very dark chocolate when he is fired up, and paler the rest of the time.  I think most of you would consider him patterless, although he shows some freckles when not fired-up and he does have color on his tail.  He is only about 22 grams, so he needs to do some growing, if I can figure out how to upload pictures, I will send them along.  I don't wish to sell him, but if you are near me, I might be willing to loan him once he reaches breeding weight.   Carrie in Cali

Part of the time I am not far from SacTown.  Citrus Heights near Oak and Fair Oaks.    Sneeze and you're in Orangevale.  Rest of the time, I'm up the hill from Angels Camp.
My thanks for the photo tip.  Carrie

I have a male crested that is pale olive/tan during the day and fires up almost completely black. I don't have many pictures since I just got him two weeks ago, but here's a few I do have. (Don't mind the flash, I'm a horrible photographer.)

On my finger:

Partially fired up:

A bit darker than a normal daytime color:

If you want to be really honest, I believe I paid about $30 for him (on sale) at Petco. He's a feisty little thing, but absolutely adorable and I love him. His latest thing is hiding in a log, upside down, sleeping with his head out the little hole so he can watch you too.

I think I have a few better pictures that I'll upload after class.

Alright, actually, I've got a bit of spare time now so I'll upload them. One thing I have found, though, is that the pictures never show how truly dark he gets.

Two mostly fired up pics and then a normal/sleeping pic.

He's such a weirdo. That log actually sits vertically (we stuck it on the counter sideways so we could get a good pic) and he hangs upside down in it. I now know to check there for him first because otherwise I think he's just disappeared...strange little thing.

Now how could I see this thread and not post a pic of my black male harly, I will really miss this guy, He was sold to a friend of mine in Denmark and will hopefully be making the trip next month.

Just to give you an idea to go by, he was sold for 250, but a crested is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, keep that in mind.

I've been trying to get that dark base with bright contrast like that with one of my breeding groups, I have a couple with potential, but nothing quite like this one...amazing gecko

I have a little boy who turns BLACK when he gets fired up.
This is Coco

his flame changed from orange to gold as he grew up. what a bummer.
but boy did he grow FAST.

The first one is him now. and the second was him at only a few months.
when he's not fired up he looks like a coco puff :]
im trying to make my lighting better with the pics.
the shadows always end up looking weird.

BRINGING BACK AN OLD TOPIC:

Hey, i just picked up two very very very dark girls at the show.
The first one, is not her full blackness. When she is fully fired up she looks like this, but then when she starts to fire down she gets solid BLACK. Looks literally identical to Bobby Pruetts male. I didn't get a pic of her like that, because it was on the way home from the show and i didn't have a camera. Shes the only one i would consider SOLID BLACK. The other one is a very very dark chocolate bicolor.

Let me knw what you guys think:

That's almost exactly what my largest (56 g.) female looks like, except she has much more pale tail markings and her spots are a bit smaller.  She, too, gets almost a solid black...it's almost a little freaky!
